Reclaiming the Lost Craft of Architecture

There was once a building master who knew masonry and carpentry. He knew proportion and beauty and scale, brick and steel, glass and timber. He understood sitework and plumbing, he was part structural engineer, part artist, part visionary, and part economist. The Architect would bring all the disparate aspects of a building project together under one roof. He spent his life honing his craft.

The craft of architecture has been nearly forgotten. The architect has outsourced all of his thinking and most of his work to other specialties, consultants, or “the code”, and now most architects pass their days cranking out generic bland blueprints yielding a generic bland world. A world that worships only the lowest price and minimum standards, with barely a thought to quality of life, or building for generations. SteadCraft Architects exists to reclaim the craft of Architecture, and guide you in the building project you envision – bringing goodness, truth, and beauty back to the built environment.
